New Jersey, which most would think is a seemingly irrelevant state, actually has a little known, yet important history. New Jersey was an important military site during the Revolutionary war. As a matter of fact, George Washington himself set up winter quarters there on two occasions in Morristown, NJ. This city was known as the military capital of the revolution. The New Jersey Journal, a revolutionary newspaper also made in New Jersey, helped spark enthusiasm in the troops. This paper offered good news about the war, often rejuvenating the soldiers.
